Second Story Program Partnership
Hopeful Minds Outreach (HMO) is excited to announce a recent partnership with Second Story, a nonprofit organization that has provided safe havens for local youth and families for over 50 years. Second Story offers free housing for those who are in need in the DMV area.
On Memorial Day, May 26, HMO teammates Anna, Lillian, Caroline, and Jenny dedicated their morning to preparing a delicious and filling meal for Second Story young mothers and children. The team cooked up homemade pasta with meat and tomato sauce, American flag-themed jello cups, fresh baked brown butter toffee chocolate chip cookies, and chicken spring mix salad. Afterwards, HMO delivered the food to Second Story and met with program coordinators Katie and Lauren. Both of them were very thankful for the food and were looking forward to having a special Memorial Day meal. What a coincidence that the young mothers are also hosting a baby shower on the same day!
HMO is grateful to have this opportunity to serve those in our community who need it the most. HMO will also be hosting a music performance for Second Story young mothers on June 3 and we are looking forward to it 🎼 🎹 🎻
School Backpack Drive for Second Story Youth Program
Our team is extremely grateful for the generous support and donation from employees of TD Bank! Thank you! With their support, we were able to purchase 24 school backpacks and 50 notebooks for the youth development program of our community partner Second Story, a nonprofit organization that transforms the lives of young people by providing safe havens & opportunities for them to grow and thrive. These supplies will be distributed to kids who truly need them!
