Our Services

We offer online tutoring sessions in piano, math, coding and writing and other subjects at a very affordable rate. Limited in-person sessions may be available in the Mclean and Langley school districts.  Please find our tutors below and contact hopefulmindsoutreach@gmail.com to inquire about our service hours and fees and other questions.

​We donate the proceeds from our services to impactful mental health and youth leadership nonprofit organizations and fund our community activities.  

Caroline Su

Caroline Su is a junior at McLean High School. She began her piano studies at age 6, and now studies privately with Dr. Martin Labazevitch. She is also a National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellow enrolled in the chamber music program. 

Caroline has won awards many state-level, national and international events such as the 3rd place at the 2025 MostArts Young Pianist Competition, winner of 2022 and 2023 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) VA state competitions, winner of 2022 William Knabe International Competition, first place at 2023, 2021 and 2019 Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA) Achievement Awards, and many more.  Caroline has performed at venues such as Kennedy Center Millenium Stage in Washington, DC, Hungarian Embassy in US, and the 2024 Philadelphia Young Pianists' Academy (PYPA) Musical Soirée.

Caroline performs regularly in assisted living and mental health facilities across the DC area to share her love of music and improve the lives of others. At school, she leads McLean's student-led journalism publication as online editor-in-chief. She enjoys playing volleyball, listening to music, and participating in her school's mock trial team. She is looking forward to using her skills to help foster a greater interest in music and inspire optimistic mindsets.

Felix Xu

Felix Xu is a junior at Langley High School in Fairfax, VA. He showed strong interest in music as a child and started to study piano from the age of 4 with Margarita Gramaticova. 

 

Felix has won many prizes throughout his journey, including the first prize in the VMTA Virginia State Auditions from 2018 to 2022. He has also won a number of NVMTA and WMTA piano competitions in the DC area, such as first prize at the 2024 NVMTA Achievements Awards, first prize at the 2024 District Auditions, first prize at the 2022 WMTA Hungarian Music Piano Competition, and many more. He has also performed in several embassies such as the Embassy of Hungary, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Embassy of France, and Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. 

 

Beyond his musical achievements, Felix loves reading, playing with his dog, and playing tennis. In the winter, skiing is his top priority, as he loves to ski as well. Felix is looking forward to serving the community and improving people’s lives through music and a positive mindset. 

Ryan Guo

Ryan Guo is a junior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia. He is passionate about math and loves to share the fun with more students in the community.  Ryan has participated in numerous math competitions including MATHCOUNTS, AMC 8, AMC 10, AIME as well some high school travel competitions such as Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament, Carnegie Mellon Informatics and Mathematics Competition, and American Regional Mathematics League. Aside from math, Ryan also enjoys coding, Kung fu, reading, running, and playing with his dog. Ryan would love to leverage his skills and passion to make a difference in the community.

Eric Li

Eric Li is a junior at McLean High School in Fairfax. Eric won the 2023 Science Bowl State championship as the physics main competitor for the Longfellow Middle School team. He is currently part of the USA Computing Olympiad (USACO) silver division. He has over 60 hours of tutoring experience through his positions as Writing Center consultant and math ambassador at Longfellow Middle School. Aside from this, Eric also enjoys playing soccer, piano, and ping pong. Eric is looking forward to opportunities to share his passion and experience in science and programming.

William Wu

William Wu, 17, is a junior at St. Albans School in Washington D.C. and has studied piano at Levine Music with Marina Alekseyeva since 2018. He won First Prize and Best Performance of a Solo Work at the 2025 Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition, and was also the Virginia State Winner in the 2024 MTNA Senior Division Piano competition, a National YoungArts Award winner in Classical Music/Piano in 2025, the Grand Prize Winner of the 2024 Piano Star International Competition, and took first place in the VMTA Concerto Competition in 2024.
